Our Philosophy
Real conversations. Practical change. Meaningful growth. Calgary and Alberta
At Mindset Solutions Counselling, we believe therapy is more than simply talking about what's wrong. It is an opportunity to better understand yourself, recognize the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical ways to move forward.
The name Mindset Solutions reflects a commitment to helping you better understand and take control of your thoughts, emotions, and behavioural patterns. Therapy focuses on developing a healthier mindset, working through limiting beliefs, and creating meaningful, sustainable change. Each approach is tailored to your unique experiences, needs, and goals.
If you are looking for counselling in Calgary and feel ready to move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life, Mindset Solutions Counselling offers a supportive and professional space to begin. You can reach out through the Contact page or book an appointment through the Online Booking page to take the first step toward clarity, healing, and lasting change.
We believe meaningful change happens through a relationship built on trust, curiosity, honesty, and collaboration. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. Together, we can make sense of what you're experiencing and identify the steps that feel realistic and meaningful for you.
Our goal isn't to tell you who you should be. It is to help you better understand who you are, what matters to you, and what may be getting in the way of living the life and having the relationships you want.
Our Approach
Psychological care that is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in evidence.
There isn't one therapeutic approach that works for everyone. Your experiences, relationships, strengths, challenges, and goals are unique, and your therapy should reflect that.
Our work draws from established psychological approaches including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Emotion-Focused Therapy
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Narrative Therapy
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
- Motivational Interviewing
- Gottman Method approaches for couples
Rather than following a rigid formula, we work collaboratively to determine what is most helpful for you.
Therapy may involve developing practical skills, exploring emotions and relationships, understanding longstanding patterns, challenging unhelpful thinking, or simply creating space to slow down and make sense of what you're experiencing.
The goal is not just insight. It's meaningful change that can extend beyond the therapy room.

What You Can Expect
You don't have to know exactly where to start.
Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable—even when you know you're ready for something to change.
Your first appointment is an opportunity to talk about what brought you to therapy, what you've been experiencing, and what you'd like to be different. We will work together to understand your concerns and determine what approach may be most helpful.
A conversation, not a performance.
You don't need to prepare the perfect explanation or know exactly what you need from therapy.
A collaborative process.
Your goals and experiences guide the work. Therapy is something we do with you, not to you.
Practical tools and deeper understanding.
Depending on your needs, therapy may involve developing practical strategies, exploring emotions and relationships, understanding patterns, or working toward meaningful behavioural change.
Progress at a pace that makes sense.
Therapy isn't about rushing to fix everything. We work toward meaningful progress while respecting your circumstances and readiness.
A clear next step.
If you're unsure whether therapy, couples counselling, or an assessment is right for you, you can start with a consultation. We can talk about what you're looking for and determine the most appropriate next step.
